Kia Selley

Kia Selley is a licensed landscape architect with over 20 years of executive-level experience leading collaborative teams accomplishing complex asset management, capital projects planning, and capital construction project programs. 

In her career as a public servant, she has worked at the Portland Development Commission (now Prosper Portland), and at the City of Gresham as Executive Director of the Redevelopment Commission and Planning Director. She was the Assets and Development Division Manager at Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) from 2012-2016 and led the asset management and maintenance, capital planning, and capital construction programs (including the $68 million Parks Replacement Bond program) as well as oversaw all parks, trail, and natural area planning. Kia later served as the Interim Director of PP&R and most recently launched a private consulting firm.  

She has served Portland’s parks in a variety of ways, including past board and committee affiliations like the Lan Su Classical Chinese Garden (ex officio) and the Japanese Garden Oversight Committee for the Cultural Crossing Project. In addition to her board service at Portland Parks Foundation, Sse currently serves as land use committee chair for Multnomah Athletic Club. She lives in southwest Portland with her husband, her son, and her dog, Charlie. She enjoys traveling, gardening, exploring natural areas, and playing tennis.
