Furey Community Garden

This work party will be a chance to clean the garden after a busy summer. We will be laying down wood chips on pathways and around perimeter, spreading compost and removing debris from the garden.

Ages: All children welcome with parental supervision.

Wilkes Park

Join Portland Parks & Recreation to help beautify Wilkes park by removing a chain-link fence and building a split-rail fence. Volunteers will also help remove invasive non-native species from the natural area in Wilkes Park. Invasive species removal restores wildlife habitat and encourages native species regeneration to prevent erosion and water run-off. 

Ages: All children welcome with adult supervision.
Things to bring: Please wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear and sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea and KIND Snacks provided.

Hoyt Arboretum

Join Hoyt Arboretum Friends in maintaining Portland's living library of trees. Volunteers will be removing invasive species, mulching, re-potting plants, weeding, root pruning, and trail work.

Specific Location Directions: Meet at the Hoyt Arboretum Visitor Center.There is limited parking here, people should plan on carpooling or taking the MAX.
Ages: All children welcome with adult supervision.
Things to bring: Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy closed-toed shoes. Please bring a full water bottle.
Abilities or Skills Preference: Ability to navigate hilly terrain.
